Update on updates!

Hello world!

Checking in from Caffe Benne! Quite possibly one of the coolest coffee shops here in DTLA. I think I’m going to make it a thing to come here often. The coffee is delicious and the waffles are fluffed to perfection!

I keep thinking that it’s been months since my last post only to realize that it’s only really been two weeks. I guess you can say I’m getting better at this whole blogging thing. Right? Maybe? I’ve been incredibly busy the last couple weeks, I’m not entirely sure how I was able to blog but I’m glad I did, haha.

So as I said, checking in from Caffe Benne! I figured I should take the time and fully update future self with how things are going and what a better time to do it than the present – down time. **sigh** (As a warning: This is probably going to be a long post considering I have limited access to any wifi and typing this in word. Future me will either hate or love me for that and if it’s not the latter then, get over it future me.)

I’m 22. Let’s start with that. I heard that after 21 it goes by pretty fast, so I’m pretty prepared to take in as much as I can. I have to admit that turning 22 didn’t really have much of an effect on me other than knowing I’m another year closer to being able to rent a car should the necessity ever present itself.  I guess that’s what everyone means by your 20s “going by pretty fast” – you just don’t feel it! Eek. Oh well, one day at a time Krislam, one day at a time! Although, I’ll be the first to admit that it is already October 27, 2013 and I could of sworn I turned 22 all of like…yesterday. How is it almost black Friday and/or Christmas. Oh, Christmas, how my wallet is not prepared for you. Oh well.

Enough yammering about how I am quickly aging and not even conscience about it. I hit my 90th day at work this past week!! Technically it would be on November 6, but I already received my review so I consider it to be my 90th day. I cannot fathom that it’s already 3 months. I honestly love every aspect of my job! From the culture to the endless amount of food that is circulated around the department – it’s unbelievable. I already feel so close to everyone who was once brand new co-workers. They’re starting to become a family and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

I’ve learned so much in the last 3 months and I can’t wait to see what the upcoming months have in store for me. It’s definitely a 360 from my previous job, but I feel that it’s a tremendous opportunity and so many doors will open for me. I’m also freelancing which is a learning experience in its own. I never thought that I would find myself having to balance a full time job and freelance.  Freelancing is going really well, I enjoy working with all my clients and establishing a professional relationship with them. Future me, I hope that around this time next year your clientele list is far greater than what you have now, make that happen future me!

I have internet now! Oh the distraction. I’m also palpitating from this delicious sugary food. On that note, I’ve been palpitating more than usual and that’s starting to become quite the concern for me, I’ll keep on eye out that.

I just figured out I want to blog about something else – ha! So I’ll check back in later future me. There’s a few things you have on your mind about certain topics that you should probably get out now. Cheers to your 90th day J

Hello Geena :) x Round 2 DTLA!

Studio infinity (we're still working on the name ._.) welcomes Geena! She joined our lovely home mid September and I have yet to tell the world, hehe. We love her and she's amazing. She can also eat a lot of potatoes and make some killer quesadillas. She's definitely a keeper! Hehehe!

On that note we just signed our lease for another year! Woohoo! :) Not entirely sure what to expect in the upcoming year, but we're definitely ready!

Love you ladies! ^^

I'm 22!

And what better way to begin the post than to post a picture of me using a wacom pen as a mustache!

Sigh* that is correct world, I am another year older. It's funny I didn't really feel myself turn 22 as I did when I turned 21, I think it has to do with the fact that it's not a big milestone, y'know? It was a chill birthday, spent it with the people I love the most!

Highlights of my birthday include:

(Before my birthday) Jourel surprising me in the morning with balloons and delicious cupcakes! We did the usual and went to IHOP where I enjoyed my free birthday Rooty Tooty Fresh and Booty and then went to Target and also did the usual. Oh we also danced in the up most appropriate costumes, it was very twenty-two of us. Thank you, Jaybird!

Jay took me to see The Naked and Famous at The Wiltern and it was amazing! We totally rocked out to our favorite songs and blushed over the cute girl from the earlier band, The Colorist! We almost didn't make it to the show cause we were going to get Jolibee first, BUT we ended up getting Jack in the Box. 2 tacos and "potaters" hahaha! Thanks Jay! Oh! I almost forgot, he also made me Filipino spaghetti and bought me a yellow moleskine :)

I actually turned 22 at Wellesbourne in Culver City (I think it was Culver...) with Jay and Lance after a movie at The Landmark. We enjoyed a drink and a birthday shot to celebrate the night. Thank you Jay & Lance!

On the day of my birthday I walked into work and saw this on my desk. Hahaha! Yes, those are post-its. I felt so loved by my co-workers and almost went into tears. After lunch my Art Director tricked me into a room with the department singing happy birthday to me with a cake and a card, hehe :) Felt so much love! Thank you my lovely co-workers! Special thank you to Johnny for taking the time to decorate my desk and Danny for sticking me on the balloon!

After work Jordan took me to go get Alcoholic boba from Boba 7 (SO GOOD) and went straight to Casey's afterwards where we basically threw french fries at each other and spoke between walkie talkies. I really do love that girl. Jay joined us a little later and drew "Peaky". He currently resides on my desk wall and I look at him and remember what a great birthday I had, hehe. Jordan also did the best birthday haul with two books and two mini walkie talkies that we are totally using, ha! Thanks Jordan!

I know I didn't mention my family and it's because my birthday landed on a weekday and we were all caught up on the weekend with another family engagement, but my mom is helping me buy my new tablet for home so that's enough for me. Besides my family has done a lot for me this year with unemployment and keeping me above water and in DTLA, so honestly there's nothing more I could ever ask for.

Overall my birthday was really chill and well spent with wonderful people that truly mean a lot to me. 21 went by really fast and I was told that it only goes faster and with that being said I guess it's time to kick it up on notch with my adventures and start crossing more things off the bucket list! I learned a lot in the past year and a lot has changed so I'm definitely looking forward to what's coming up!

Birthday selfie!

Cheers to being another year older! Keep it classy 21! Here we go - Make it count future me!
(And remember that you left yourself a letter in your #3 moleskine before you turned 22, you better make those goals happen!)

Love, Present Me!
