Apartment Hunting Pt. 1

So this past weekend penail Abby & my new friend Charlene came down from NorCal to look for apartments/lofts in LA. Aside from Charlenes hyper side the hunt was crazy, we literally gave ourselves just one day to look for apartments and found a few but settled on one. It was definitely an experience in itself when I discovered just how terribly tiring and hard it became towards the middle of the hunt. We found an apartment in K-Town and have our hearts set on that one, our only hope is that there will be an available room in June.*crossing our fingers!* the location is great (kind of on the suburbs side) and the room gives off a kind of "homey" feel, on top of all that the rent is pretty much doable which is obviously what we're looking for.

Initially I intended to move out into a studio/loft with a high ceiling, big windows, lots of lighting AND smack dab in LA where I can hear all the chaos (This dream inspired by Jhomar and his super awesome place that I'm super megga hella jealous about) however that dream is going to be put on hold, in the meantime I will settle for this cozy-suburb apartment until we can all establish ourselves, and besides a lot of my friends all started off with a small (though, mine isn't small) room and worked their way up. So I will keep my dream alive but on the back burner for now and believe me I will pursue my ultimate dream of living in DTLA, but as of now I am super super super super stoked to move out in my future cozy-home... I can't wait!

I have about 2.5 months to save up whatever money needed to move out in June, until then it'll be a strict budget with my wallet and I.

Dear future Krislam, I hope that by the time you read this again in about a year or two, you have graduated from the apartment phase and is fulfilling the dream in the city :]

Until then, baby steps...baby steps...

Welcome home, Murfee.

Introducing the newest member to our car family, Murfee! I'm so proud to finally purchase my own car, I feel so .. mature LOL. I'm so happy to have him! He's obviously never going to replace Charlie since he'll always have a spot in my heart but I'm so excited to start new adventures with this little guy. I trust that little Murfee will protect me the same way Charlie did. Hehe.

To new adventures!

Post Accident

Nothing would of a prepared me for what happened a month ago, but it goes to show how much you shouldn't take life for granted. I'm so thankful and blessed that no one was extremely injured from the accident and that we're all alive and well carrying on with our lives. I was told by plenty of people that recovery is all the well different per person and that if there is one thing we all need to recover, is time.

Hmm time -- it's crazy how it's already been a month. No one said it was going to be easy to recover, and they were right. Physically I'm still suffering from back/neck pains which I'm hoping will eventually heal give or take another month and mentally, well mentally... it's been quite the roller coaster. There are times that I can go about my life thinking it never happened but then there are moments when I have random flash backs and could hear my accident in detail and get all teary eyed. It's weird and random but more so weird, I'm hoping that it will eventually subside and turn into a mere memory.

Driving has also been a roller coaster for me, it took me well over a week before I got behind the wheel and another 3 weeks before I got back onto the freeway. It's not entirely THAT terrifying to drive, but it's still goes with much difficulty. Again, give or take another month or so I'm hoping that I'll regain my full confidence to drive. I was actually told that you become a much better driver both aggressively/defensively coming out of an accident so I'm definitely working towards that. Beep beep!

With all that being said, I'm so blessed and thankful for the people who stayed by my side and kept a close watch to make sure I was okay and to the people who kept me company and hung out with me whether it was watching endless movies or going out to the mall, LOL you know who are <3 OH and a big thank you to the people who offered to chauffeur me around, LOL. I'm praying/hoping that the following months will be a bit easier now that I got the first 30 days under my belt :p

Till next time world :]

365 Project | February

02/12
Haha - I thought I did this already apparently I didn't. Here it goes February in review (at the best of my knowledge). Oh goodness February, just by looking at the pictures it started off as an amazing month and mid way ended in such tragedy LOL. I must say February was definitely one of those months that just didn't go well for me, but like I've been saying with the help of my family and friends I overcame it :]

Aside from the accident --

  • I tried my first shot of wheat grass -- never again x_x
  • Discovered a new drink at Starbucks prepared by the most awesomest barista, David!
  • Met Edward Tufte and learned about sparklines.
  • Had an amazing Valentines day/weekend
  • Updated my portfolio and reunited with Mr. Dahms
  • Hung out with a lot of friends
  • Spent a lot of time with Tony
  • And did a lot of recovering...
It goes without saying that this month was definitely a life changing month and I'm so glad and thankful to still be alive to enjoy many more months to come :]

Cheers to a life changing month!
